Faik Tunay, a live broadcast guest on KRT TV on the night of November 2, 2026, expressed his certainty that the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will now pass to the AK Party.

Making noteworthy statements about political shifts, Tunay said, "When I was a deputy, because my political background was right-wing, many figures in the CHP spread immoral rumors about me, saying, 'Faik Tunay is already right-wing, he will switch to the AK Party, he won't stay in the CHP.' Today, some of the people who started those rumors have left the CHP and founded a new party, while others are still involved in politics within the CHP."

Stating that what is truly interesting is that many figures who have long been in the CHP and identify as leftists have switched to the AK Party, Tunay emphasized that the opposition needs to be a serious alternative and much stronger against the ruling party, but it currently lacks sufficient power.

What is really interesting from the past, CHP is located in the many names that describe himself as a leftist, is to go through Tünay stating that the AK Party, the opposition against the government should be much more powerful and a serious alternative, but nowadays has enough power, not stressed.
Tünay, just right in time for this injustice to him coming from the politics of the situation that confronts those who do complete today “the world” for instance, by expressing his words ended.
