Participating in a live broadcast on KRT TV on October 26, 2026, Tunay evaluated the 2027 budget.
Stating, "Unfortunately, the real agenda is not discussed in Turkey because the opposition is very poor and inadequate," Tunay expressed that the ruling party dictates its own agenda.
Noting that the 2027 budget allocates 3 trillion 454 billion liras for the defense industry while the state will pay 3 trillion 900 billion liras in debt interest, Tunay said, "It is very difficult for us to survive with these interest rates."
Asking, "If the share allocated to our pride, the defense industry, is less than what we will pay in interest, what else is there to discuss?", Tunay concluded his speech by emphasizing that things will be very difficult unless a transition to a production economy is made.
